Rev. Fay Lundin is the pastor of College Park United Methodist Church. She literally sailed into this area with her husband and son in their 39 foot sailboat Camelot, arriving here in September of 2000. It took them almost two years to sail from Los Angeles, CA through the Panama Canal to Washington D.C. Their son is now grown and after ten years of living on the boat, she and her husband Erick have moved back to land. She loves hiking, sailing, dogs, paper sculpting, clowning, magic and reading .
A life long Methodist, Pastor Fay felt the call by God to ordained ministry while leading a city wide Mother’s support group in Phoenix, AZ She realized that if children experience unearned love from their parents, it goes a long way toward their accepting the grace of a loving God. She attended seminary part time until her family moved to Los Angeles in 1992 just before the Rodney King Riots. During the 90's she was involved in faith based community redevelopment in Los Angeles.
Fay feels called to pastoral care and to speak for those who are poor, without power and marginalized. She has been the pastor of College Park UMC since 2007 and Mowatt Memorial UMC since 2008. As a follower of Christ, she is committed to serving a church that recognizes the equal worth of each human being and actively welcomes them into its church family.
And here are a couple of Fay's favorite links for fun. She usually reads Church Mice weekly. It is a cartoon drawn by a Methodist in the Carolinas. http://churchmice.net/ Another link is to "Chuck knows Church". This is from the United Methodist General Board of Disciples. http://www.chuckknowschurch.com/ .
Amy is the Minister of Outreach at College Park United Methodist. In November of 2018, she joined CPUMC to work with the Hispanic ministries and then developed other outreach ministries for the church, including an intentional student community (Humble House) and an after school program, stART.
She lives on just the other side of College Park in Greenbelt, and considers herself a dual citizen of both wonderfully diverse and interesting DC suburb towns.
Amy dreams of and works to build a church that is the hands and feet of Christ in the world.
