Where is your treasure?

"Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:21) What do these words from Jesus mean to you?

Martin Luther once said, "...whatever your heart clings to and confides in, that is really your God." We like to think our treasure is where our heart is, but often our treasure gets spent on things that are not truly important to us. Our treasure consists of our money, but also our time and energy. We all want our lives to matter.

We want to invest in the things that are important to us. But sometimes we are afraid and lack trust to invest in the really important things in life like our relationship with God. We often feel as if we have to do everything, but this spreads our hearts too thin! We are challenged this week to think about what we want to invest in, versus what we actually are investing in. If there is a disconnect between the two, how can we work toward getting our treasure and our hear in line?

As followers of Christ, we have to be focus, in the things, that really matter. Our Relationship with Christ, Our Relationship with our family of Faith, Our Relationship with are family in the flesh, and Our Relationship with those, who will become part of our family of faith, We have to be ready, We have to be Bold and Challenge ourself, to live for Christ, and his people.

I believe creating a strong solid relationship with Christ is the first step. Daily prayer, daily scripture readings and even fasting is a good way to start. After doing this, your priorities will be set straight and much more focused. Your heart should be set on the kingdom of God, your family of faith, your family, your children/grandchildren, putting your talents in action for the service of our Lord, helping others even when they don't deserve it, giving, giving and giving some more! Giving creates a healthy heart! End conclusion, our hearts should always be linked with Gods purpose in our lives! If you don't know you're purpose, pray, God will answer you!

Treasure in itself is what you value. Whatever you have placed value on is considered your TREASURE and that's where your heart would belong. That thing that has taken the number ONE priority on your list is the Treasure.
